OpenVPN is looking for a Channel and Partner Marketing Manager experienced in scaling strategies across several key channels: cloud marketplaces, MSPs and resellers, and affiliate programs. As an early addition to our channel team, you'll have a high-value impact on channel marketing development and acquisition at-large at OpenVPN.

Our ideal candidate has extensive expertise in diverse channel marketing initiatives, is capable of taking proactive leadership, and will provide strategic guidance and recommendations to drive growth.


  • Develop and manage marketing relationships with OpenVPN’s cloud partners (priority on AWS, also Microsoft & Google).

  • Create, plan, and drive demand for OpenVPN on cloud marketplaces.

  • Create and execute joint marketing plans for and with MSP and reseller partners that drive awareness, demand generation, and & enablement in order to drive incremental channel growth.

  • Build from the ground up, in partnership with other commercial teams, a new affiliate marketing program including strategy, program management, and marketing efforts to acquire and enable affiliate partners.

  • Regularly update report out to internal stakeholders and leadership on state of the channel business and KPIs.

  • Be the primary Marketing point of contact working with AWS; serve as a member of the OpenVPN team that manages the AWS relationship.

  • Maximize the AWS partnerships through planning and execution of demand generation programs to build a lead and opportunity pipeline.

  • Develop content including joint value proposition presentations, solutions briefs, industry use cases, customer stories, and blog posts.

  • Receive and respond to Marketing-related requests from AWS; serve as one of their OpenVPN subject matter experts.

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of channel and ISV partner marketing experience across a combination of MSP and resellers, cloud marketplaces (AWS, GCP, Azure), and referral channels.

  • Network security or cybersecurity industry experience preferred.

  • Thorough marketing and channel sales background with responsibilities for multiple, multi-touch marketing initiatives.

  • Problem-solving, analytical approach (e.g. A/B testing) to planning and executing campaigns that drive performance and ROI.

  • An understanding of global cloud and data partnerships (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).

  • Must be willing to travel 1-2 times annually, with all related expenses covered by the company.

  • Compensation for this position will be tailored based on qualifications and experience. Candidates offered the position can expect a starting base salary between $80,000 and $125,000 per year.
