Job description

As one of the world leaders in cybersecurity, OpenVPN is looking for a Product DevOps to join our Product Operations team.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with developers and engineers, working on proof of concepts, conducting technology research, and continuously improving our online infrastructure and service offerings. This is an opportunity to contribute to innovative solutions in a security-focused, cloud-native environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support existing microservices running on Kubernetes

  • Support development teams with PoC and infrastructure-related tasks

  • Design and develop infrastructure automation tools to eliminate manual processes

  • Improve and evolve our current multi-cloud architecture

  • Research, evaluate, and implement new infrastructure technologies and approaches

Job requirements

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in relevant roles (DevOps Engineer, Infrastructure Engineer, or similar)

  • Strong experience with public cloud providers (AWS preferred) and/or hybrid environments

  • Practical experience with containers and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, AWS EKS, AWS ECS)

  • Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform preferred)

  • Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions)

  • Experience with Helm charts, including App-of-Apps deployment patterns

  • Familiarity with SonarQube or other static code analysis tools, with a clear understanding of their purpose and value

  • Strong knowledge of Kubernetes networking, including L4/L7 concepts, Ingress controllers, ALBs, DNS, path-based routing, and service mesh technologies such as Istio

  • Experience with tag-based release management for Helm and other platform components, as well as a solid understanding of Semantic Versioning principles

  • Autonomous and ownership-driven mindset, with a proven ability to deliver complex, production-ready solutions reliably and safely

Nice to Have:

  • Experience contributing to R&D initiatives

  • Pragmatic approach to problem-solving, avoiding overengineering and consistently following established patterns and proven solutions

  • Relevant certifications such as CKA, CKAD, or other CNCF/Linux Foundation certifications

  • Software development background or strong willingness to further develop software engineering skills

  • Familiarity with GitOps approaches (ArgoCD, Crossplane, Flux)

  • Understanding of NoSQL databases (MongoDB preferred)

  • Experience with Artifactory and Gradle

  • Experience with logging and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack)

  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills across databases, applications, platforms, monitoring systems, alerts, documentation, and version control; ability to collect evidence and analyze facts before escalating issues
