Job description
OpenVPN is looking for a Web Product Manager to lead our web development team. If you have a few years of experience in web development and product management, we’d love to hear from you! Leadership experience is a big plus.
In this role, you’ll lead your team, oversee the development process, and act as the key contact between your team, other managers, and stakeholders such as Marketing and Sales. Come join us and make a difference!
Your contribution will include:
- Create and manage a roadmap for the website.
- Validate business requirements, elicit functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders, and organize effective feedback cycles.
- Document requirements.
- Work closely with the website design team to provide development input and ensure that best practices are followed.
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders to receive and prioritize business requirements.
- Lead SCRUM meetings.
- Supervise and delegate duties to the development team.
- Take ownership of the project and drive the software development process through all stages of the SDLC.
- Manage the specification, planning, progress, status updates, and software product delivery.
- Work with DevOps to go live with the developed features.
- Promote a culture of quality.
Job requirements
You’ll be a great fit if you:
- Have at least 2 years of experience leading software development projects as a product manager/software development manager/cloud-native software architect.
- Fluent in English — it's our daily working language!
- Have perfect knowledge of best practices for Websites of SaaS products.
- Have a good understanding of website performance metrics.
- Understand UX, UI, and usability.
- Have experience writing technical documentation (functional and technical product specifications).
- Have experience using Jira to manage sprints.
- Understand networking and security concepts.
- Have a proactive and can-do attitude and the ability to multitask.
- Can work in a flexible schedule environment — you'll be working primarily in your timezone, but we also have people in the US and Europe.
- You're great at communicating, leading a team, and solving problems.
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or computer science.
- Current or past software development experience in JavaScript frameworks like Next.js and API technologies like GraphQL.
- Prior experience managing a web development team is a plus.
