OpenVPN Inc is looking for a Technical Sales Engineer who is passionate about demonstrating the solutions possible with our newly launched product OpenVPN Cloud. You’ll have the opportunity to be a trailblazer by creating video demonstrations, presentations, and sales/product marketing materials on how to use our technology.

As a Technical Sales Engineer for OpenVPN, you’ll be responsible for maintaining existing technical sales videos, datasheets, and collateral and creating new artifacts used to influence the sales decision from scratch. This will require you to deploy our products and get to know every aspect of them. You will also be conducting pre-sales webinars for prospects and internal sales training.

You’ll be expected to collaborate with key stakeholders in marketing, sales, support, and product managers to deliver experiences that will help our prospective customers understand how to use OpenVPN’s products and services and articulate what it is capable of. You will not be accountable for nor be incentivized for sales.


  • Produce short-format (5 minutes) demo videos explaining a very specific product feature to host on our website
  • Produce long-format (15 minutes) demo videos explaining a very specific product use case to host on our website
  • Develop technical presentations and proposals, and perform customer presentations and product demonstrations
  • Evangelize best practices and always be up to date with new cybersecurity challenges
  • Be the technical solution expert for our customers and partners
  • Collaborate with the worldwide Sales teams
  • Plan topics and concepts to present and demonstrate during regularly scheduled webinars for internal and external consumption
  • Review technical product documentation for accuracy
  • Create and maintain demo environments
  • Convey concepts and network connectivity using illustrations

Job requirements

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience is required
  • Minimum 3 years in technical sales roles like Pre-Sales, System Engineering, Solution Consultant, Sales Engineer, with a network security solution provider preferably for an MSP or MSSP
  • Strong Networking and Security background
  • Hands-on use of cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, preferably AWS Certification
  • Portfolio of publicly available demonstration videos

Required Skills:

  • Immaculate oral presentation and diction and fluency in English (additional language fluency a plus)
  • Articulate presentation skills
  • Experience using devices with a variety of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS
  • Familiarity working with Confluence, Jira, WordPress
  • Proficiency in creating videos, presentation slides, and illustrations

NOTE: As part of the interview process, the candidate will be required to demonstrate an example use case of OpenVPN Cloud
